Twomey Cellars is owned by the Duncan family, founders of Silver Oak Cellars. Their commitment to producing exceptional handcrafted wines is the driving force behind the winery’s success.
Raymond Twomey Duncan first came to the Napa Valley in the late 1960s, soon realizing the area’s potential. After becoming friends with winemaker Justin Meyer the two formed a partnership and co-founded Silver Oak Cellars where, to this day, the focus is to produce extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon. Almost three decades later Ray, with his four sons Mike, Kevin, Tim and David, launched Twomey Cellars in 1999, based on Winemaker Daniel Baron’s vision of creating a world-class California Merlot. Tim and David, who act as Managing Partners of Twomey, are self proclaimed Pinot Noir enthusiasts. Their shared passion for this varietal lead to the creation of our Pinot Noir Program in 2002. Four years later we began producing Sauvignon Blanc from our Estate Vineyard in Calistoga.
Today, Ray’s sons David and Tim use their years of wine experience as a foundation to help carry the Twomey vision forward while managing the day-to-day operations.
